Dr. Farid Azhar
Dr. Farid Azhar grew up in Southern California, the oldest of three children. Dr. Azhar attended California State University-Northridge, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree and attended the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry for his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During dental school Dr. Azhar was involved in community health programs such as directing the USC mobile clinic and volunteering in health fairs. After graduation, Dr. Azhar continued at USC as a part time professor. During the past twenty years of his dental career, he has been involved with endodontics, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry as well as general dentistry.
Dr. Azhar’s strength lies in the attention and detail he applies to his work. His commitment to his patients is exemplified in his meticulousness about the intricacies that separate good dentistry from excellent dentistry. Dr. Azhar does not limit himself to the typical parameters of a dental visit. He understands that there are circumstances that will take multiple chair visits to complete something to perfection, and strives to ensure that your office visit is satisfactory. Dr. Azhar does not finalize a treatment until the procedure is completed to perfection. Just ask any of the patients he has treated, they will say that the detail he puts into his dental artistry is what sets him apart from the rest.
Dr. Azhar is married to his wife, Rina and has a 9 year old son, Rayan, and 6 year old daughter, Fara. On the weekends, you can often find him on the sidelines cheering his children at their soccer games or watching ESPN.
Dr. Robert Valdez (Retired)
Dr. Valdez, the second youngest of 8 children, was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from the University of California at San Francisco, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Association. Dr. Valdez is active in the Dental Health Education Committee and the Peer Review Committee for his local dental society.
Dr. Valdez is active in the community. He volunteered his time and services in the Oxnard School District by providing dental screenings to local elementary and middle-school students. In addition, he volunteered at the Oxnard Salvation Army Clinic, and the Juvenile Justice Facility where he provided free dental service to incarcerated youth.
As a result of all of his volunteer work over the past several years, Dr. Valdez was selected as the Santa Barbara-Ventura Counties Dental Care Foundation's Volunteer Dentist of the Year Award for 2015!
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Valdez enjoys listening to music and being outdoors. His main hobbies are golfing, listening to his extensive music collection, gardening, and walking the dogs. His favorite sports team is the Los Angeles Lakers. Dr. Valdez is fluent in Spanish as are several staff members.
